JCs Distinction - Overall Supreme World Champion 2018 & 2019
Welcome to Ballykeppogue Stud. We are a small stud based on the east coast of Ireland in Co. Wicklow. We acquired our first miniature horses in 2008 and have been actively involved with miniature horse showing since 2011. We show our horses competitively at a high level throughout Ireland and the UK. Starting from humble beginnings, we have gradually increased our herd and are very proud to own an enviable group of horses.
In 2018 we began exclusively showing our horses in the UK and only doing a handful of shows each season we have obtained countless Grand Champions, Reserve Grand Champions and numerous Overall Grand Supreme in show. Some of our biggest wins include Overall Supreme of the Miniature Horse Of The Year 2014, both Overall Supreme and Overall Reserve Supreme under 34" at the MHCGB Grand Championships 2016, Showcase of Champions Overall Supreme Miniature Horse 2016 & Overall Reserve Supreme Maxi Horse 2018, Overall Supreme Best In Show MHCGB National Spring Show 2018 and 2019, Overall Supreme World Champion Supernova World Championships 2018 and 2019.
We breed a small number of foals every year each mating carefully selected. Our aim is to produce foals that are not only beautiful and typy but first and foremost with correct conformation and great movement. Since 2017 we have been gradually transitioning our breeding programme to ASPC/AMHR and now own a small select group of American Shetland ponies and will be expecting our first ASPC/AMHR foals in early 2021
